Maché™ Rose Ranunculus, also known as Persian buttercup, offers late spring to early summer interest. A longtime favorite of florists, the romantic cup-shaped, fully double blooms with layers and layers of ruffled, papery petals look like a cross of a peony and a tea rose. Persian buttercups prefer full sun and sandy, slightly acidic, moist soil, but excellent drainage is essential. They perform best in climates with long, cool springs. Warm, wet conditions and heavy, unamended soils are not well tolerated. Deadheading keeps ranunculus blooming, and mulching around the plants keeps the soil cool and moist. Deer and rabbit resistant.
