A large deciduous coniferous tree of great beauty. Delicate flat sprays of narrow, bright chartreuse yellow leaves emerge in spring, mature to golden yellow in summer, before warming up to rich shades of orange-brown in the fall. The bark is reddish brown on young trees. Mature trees have darker, deeply fisured, bark and the trunk is flared at the base. An excelent tree for stream banks or pond edges. A very fast grower, up to 2 ft. per year.
